30 YEARS OF SAFE DRIVING:
TWO METRO DRIVERS INDUCTED INTO NATIONAL “TWO MILLION MILE
CLUB ”
CINCINNATI
-- They each have driven Metro buses enough miles to circumnavigate
the globe 80 times or to travel to the moon and back eight
times… without
an accident.
On Wednesday, May 24 at Metro’s Annual Safety Awards
Luncheon at Museum Center at Union Terminal, two of Greater Cincinnati’s
finest bus drivers will be inducted into the National Safety Council’s
prestigious “Two Million Mile Club” for driving 30+ years
without a preventable accident:
- Don Lewis
- Ron Stacy (retired February 2006)
Including this year's winners,
a total of 48 Metro bus drivers have received this national
honor in Metro ’s history.
The awards luncheon will honor almost
100 Metro bus drivers and mechanics with outstanding safety
records in 2005.
Metro is a non-profit public service of
the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing
about 22 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati. Metro bus drivers
travel
about 13 million miles
