METRO’S

Metro launches “Commuter Calculator” on
Dump the Pump Day
CINCINNATI
-- Sure, gas prices are high, but driving to work has lots of
other costs like parking and the wear and tear on your vehicle.
Do you know how much commuting really costs you?
Thursday, June 8 is the
American Public Transportation Association’s “Dump
the Pump Day,” and Metro is making it easy for commuters to see
just how much their commute really costs by answering a few
easy questions on-line.
To calculate your costs, you will
need to know the average round-trip mileage of your commute,
miles per gallon for
your car, and your cost for monthly parking. The calculator
will provide your monthly
and yearly commuting costs.
The Commuter Calculator can be
accessed free on Metro’s homepage
at www.go-metro.com.
Metro offers many express commuter routes
and 23 park & ride locations
in the Greater Cincinnati area. Fares are as low as $1 one-way
and unlimited-ride monthly passes begin at just $40.
About
half of Metro’s 22 million rides per year are work trips
and about 20% of downtown commuters ride Metro.
