LONG-DISTANCE COMMUTER RIDERSHIP UP
17% LAST MONTH
More commuters riding Metro from long-distance park & rides
CINCINNATI
-- Gas prices sent more commuters to Metro in May.
Metro saw a tremendous 17% jump in ridership on long-distance express routes from suburban park & rides. Almost 40,000 commuter rides were provided on these routes alone and one of the express routes increased 27%. These park & ride facilities are about 25 miles from downtown…or for drivers about a gallon of gas each way.
Ridership was up compared to same period last year on these Metro long-distance commuter routes:

Fare for West Chester, Fairfield and Kings Island commuters is $2.25 one-way and Harrison and Eastgate is $2 one-way.
Service operates directly from the park & ride to downtown Cincinnati. Parking is free at all 23 of Metro’s park & rides.
