CINCINNATI What could be more festive than a ride on an old-style trolley through the heart of downtown during the holidays? All aboard the new Holly Jolly Downtown Trolley, sponsored by Downtown Cincinnati Inc. and operated by Metro.
Holly Jolly Downtown Trolley has been a popular new addition to holidays downtown, providing about 1,600 rides last weekend, Dec. 2-3.
Hours of operation: Two decorated trolleys provide FREE shuttle service every 10 minutes on Saturdays (Dec. 9, 16, and 23) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays (Dec. 10 and 17) from noon to 5 p.m.
Trolley route: Board at the Westin, across from Fountain Square, for a continuous 10-minute loop over Fifth Street to Pike, across Fourth Street to Central and back over Fifth Street. Riders can get on and off the trolleys at trolley stops along the route as often as they want.
Trolley stops: Several specially marked trolleys stops along the route are close to holiday events and attractions, including ice skating at Fountain Square, the Taft Theater, Taft Museum, the Duke Energy train display, and shopping on Fourth and Fifth streets.
