LONG-DISTANCE COMMUTER RIDERSHIP UP 4% LAST MONTH
More commuters riding Metro from long-distance park & rides
CINCINNATI Metro continues to see an increase in ridership on long-distance express routes.
Almost 36,000 commuter rides were provided on long-distance routes alone in November an overall 4% increase compared to November 2005. These park & ride facilities are about 25 miles from downtown…or for drivers about a gallon of gas each way.
Specifically, ridership was up on the following Metro long-distance routes:
- Rt. 42X West Chester Express up 8%
- Rt. 52X Harrison Express up 5%
- Rt. 71X/ 72 Kings Island Express up 5%
Fare for West Chester, Fairfield and Kings Island commuters is $2.25 one-way and Harrison is $2 one-way. Service operates directly from the park & ride to downtown Cincinnati. Parking is free at all 23 of Metro’s park & rides.
