WARREN COUNTY FARE INCREASES TO $3.75 ON JAN. 14
CINCINNATI - Beginning Jan. 14, passengers on Metro Rt. 71X Kings Island Express and Rt. 72 Kings Island service will pay $3.75 one way
The Warren County funding partners set the fares for these routes. The Warren County Commissioners voted to increase the fare in December and customers were notified. This is a $0.50 increase over the current $3.25 fare.
Metro operates Rt. 71X and Rt. 72 under contract with Warren County and Deerfield Township. The funding partners pay the full cost of operating these routes.
Background: Metro began the Rt. 71X and Rt. 72 service in 1996 as part of the I-71 construction project and the service has been funded by the Warren County funding partners since 1998. City of Mason and Hamilton County were also funders until this year. About 140,000 rides are provided on this service annually.
